Scope and limits
A drain camera inspects accessible wastewater pipes with suitable geometry. It cannot be sent into every water pipe. A narrow entry, S-bend or damaged pipe can prevent passage.
When investigating a water leak in apartment buildings around Beşiktaş, both the lower flat showing dampness and the upper flat whose plumbing must be tested need to be open during the agreed visit window. We cannot test an upstairs supply or drain line by looking only at the ceiling below.
What a camera can and cannot show
A drain camera can show the inside of an accessible waste-water pipe of suitable design: the inner pipe wall and the point the camera cannot get past. For a leak in the supply line, methods such as pressure testing, acoustic listening or thermal inspection are chosen according to the symptoms and access.
We show you the images and explain what we see. For example, in a kitchen drain we cleared in Dikilitaş, Beşiktaş, the camera showed heavy grease build-up on the inner pipe wall; we showed the customer the images and explained the condition of the line. We do not start any additional work without your approval.
Before the visit
On the call, tell us where the damp appears, how long it has been going on, and whether any opening-up or camera inspection has been done before.
Clear the area in front of the drain opening the camera will use, and arrange access to the relevant flats and shared areas in advance.
Relevant fee conditions
Daytime detection starts at 3,000 TL for a standard apartment. If our inspection finds no leak in that apartment, the full investigation fee still applies.
If proper inspection conditions are available and we establish that a leak exists but cannot locate it, we do not charge for that detection. If lack of access or another obstacle outside our control prevents completion, the full detection fee applies.
We explain the separate fee before testing another apartment. If tests after the first repair reveal a second leak in the same apartment during the same visit, we do not charge another detection fee; repair costs remain separate. An unrelated new leak at a later visit is a new service.
Daytime prices apply from 06:00 to 00:00. From 00:00 to 06:00, a 50% surcharge applies to the daytime price. Daytime prices also apply during daytime hours on weekends and public holidays.
Common questions
Does a ceiling stain show the exact pipe location?
Water can travel through the building. We assess the stain together with the relevant plumbing above it and choose tests according to the findings. Dampness alone does not prove an active pipe leak.
Will you need access to a neighbor’s apartment?
Seeing the damage downstairs helps narrow the investigation. We cannot test an upstairs apartment’s plumbing without access. Arrange permission with the relevant residents before the visit.
Is the inspection free if no leak is found?
Finding no leak in the inspected apartment does not remove the fee. If proper conditions are available and we establish a leak but cannot locate it, there is no charge for that detection. The full fee applies if lack of access prevents completion.
Does detection include the repair?
Detection and repairs are separate jobs. Daytime detection for a standard apartment starts at 3,000 TL. We discuss repair materials, labor and any surface reinstatement separately.
Is a camera used for every water leak?
No. A drain camera is for inspecting an accessible waste-water pipe of suitable design. Our technician chooses the method according to the symptoms, access and test results.
