Scope and limits
Backflow while you are not using water, or several affected outlets, can call for a shared-line investigation. A symptom alone is not a diagnosis. Arrange main-line and shared-area access with the building manager.
If water comes back on the lowest floor
If you are on the lowest floor and wastewater comes up through the floor drain while you are not using any drain, wastewater from the upper floors may not be draining away. In that case, the problem may be in the shared drain line or the inspection chamber rather than in your flat’s own drain.
If needed, we check the line with a drain machine. If the cable moves freely towards the inspection chamber but the backflow continues, we consider whether the chamber is full or blocked. If the problem is in the chamber and the connected sewer line, we recommend talking to the building management first and contacting İSKİ if needed.
A job in Hamidiye
The customer told us that wastewater came up through the floor drain even when they were not using the toilet or any other drain. The drain machine cable moved freely towards the inspection chamber, but the backflow did not stop. When we opened the chamber cover, we saw that it was completely full, and we referred the customer to İSKİ; İSKİ crews cleared the blockage. We charged for the service and diagnostic work we had done.

Name affected outlets, previous interventions and drain-opening products during your call. Clear the work area and arrange apartment or shared-area access in advance.

A collapsed pipe, large hard object, hardened scale or obstruction in public infrastructure may resist mechanical unblocking. In such cases, the full initially agreed unblocking fee applies. We quote separately for any repair.
Tell us about two independent blocked lines during your call. If a second independent job emerges on site, we explain the additional price before starting. We may offer to credit the unblocking fee against a repair quote for that job; this is not an automatic discount.
Daytime prices apply from 06:00 to 00:00. From 00:00 to 06:00, a 50% surcharge applies to the daytime price. Daytime prices also apply during daytime hours on weekends and public holidays.
Common questions
What does the unblocking fee include?
Camera use required for the job and necessary toilet removal and refitting are included in the agreed price for that unblocking job. Repairs and separately recommended drain washing have their own prices.
Is a repeat blockage visit chargeable?
If the crew is still at the property and the original obstruction has not been fully cleared, we continue without an extra unblocking fee. A new call for a blockage after the completed work has been tested is chargeable. We do not guarantee that a line will never block again.
Whom should I contact if the inspection chamber is full?
First ask the building management to check the inspection chamber and the shared line; contact İSKİ if needed. Following this order can prevent unnecessary work and extra costs.
